Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk

Purpose

The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk is a three and a half years walk around the globe. The purpose for the walk is to raise global consciousness about choices and consequences. The purpose celebrates individual sovereignty and recognizes a thread that connects the human family. Through this connection we each have a calling, a dream, a vision, a passion to support the wellbeing of others that transcends our cultural, social, political, economic upbringings.

This connection places at our hearts the full possibilities of our human experiences and utilizes the exercise of free will within each of us to choose the path that we are to follow. The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk is born of this current moment of truth in the history of our collective existence.

The Trail of Dream World Peace Walk is happening at this point in our history because it is time for us to reclaim our individual sovereignty to realize that we have the power and responsibility to make better choices regarding the condition of all life (the planet, the wild life and vegetation and our human family). In reclaiming our individual sovereignty, we better understand our responsibility to each other.

The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk is not about revolution. This walk is not an effort to lament on the wrongs and inequities of the past. There are many people and organizations that are at work in this regard. This walk is about evolution. It is about evolving into the vision of possibility for a more humane world driven by love and compassion. The Trail of Dreams Walk seeks to empower each of us to become aware of the power we hold to affect the changes in the world that will bring about peaceful co-existence.

To affect the changes in our consciousness and societies, we must first realize that we do have choices and we do make choices everyday. These choices create the world we see around us. As we examine the condition of our human family and our ecosystems, we must be prepared to ask ourselves, “What does this say about us as choice makers?”

The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk will raise our awareness as conscious choice makers and center us in our power to choose. It is about providing the opportunity for us to see and experience the consequences of choice. Walking around the globe and interacting with local communities reconnects the global family face to face.

The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk acknowledges that in this time of technological advancement, which would seemingly bring communities closer, there is more intolerance and disparity of resources than ever. Through the walk, we will demonstrate a considerable ability to implement creative solutions to global problem solving. We acknowledge that it is now time to shift from a paradigm of coercion, competition, and power over to an existence that is rooted in cooperation and power with.

The contradictions on a global scale are frightening. In a time when there are constant disarmament talks and peace conferences there is also escalating violence against the earth, our women and children. There is hunger, poverty, limited access to housing, healthcare, education and natural resources. If the youth are a reflection of the direction of humanity then, 133 million youth remain illiterate, youth represent 41 per cent of the world’s unemployed, over 238 million youth live on less than $1 per day and there are more than 300,000 child soldiers around the world.

War has become an entrepreneurial enterprise. As a collective, the human spirit has become so demoralized that we delegate them to our social-political-governmental organizations, corporations and militaries. Our sovereignty relinquished, we find ourselves removed from the process of choice making and devoid of access to first hand perspectives thereby creating the contradictions we see in the world today.

The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk is a demonstration of the power of each of us to make choices and take action in love and compassion to shift the paradigm at this critical moment in our collective history.
